We know that campers love to be in the same cabin with their friends. Our intention is to create the best environment and experience possible for all campers — those coming alone or with friends. We want every camper to have the best week of their year, believing the ultimate camp experience is an encounter with Jesus.
Our philosophy is to balance the opportunity to meet new people with the comfort of being with friends. Making new friends and getting to know people with different life experiences is one of the great benefits of camping. At the same time, we recognize that coming to camp with a friend is fun and adds a familiar, comfortable dimension. With the goal of providing the best camping experience for everyone, we have a policy for cabinmate requests:
Campers are allowed to request up to two cabinmates.
**Cabinmate request must be mutual**
Be sure to communicate with the family of your cabinmate request to make sure you are attending the same week and they have also requested your camper to be in a cabin together.
We do our best to get each camper into a cabin with at least one of these friends. Campers spend a significant amount of time playing outside of their cabin groups, so there is adequate time for them to play with other campers who are not in their cabin.
Cabin assignments cannot be guaranteed.
Our Summer Camp Administration creates the cabin assignments several days before check-in. This is because of late drop-outs/registrations, the roster of campers is a constantly changing document.
We give a great deal of thought to how campers are placed into cabins in the days before check-in. Because of this, making cabin changes during the "check in" process is not as simple as it might sound. One change can undo our work on several other fronts.
For this reason, we are not able to make cabin changes during check in for any reason.
Questions during check-in are directed towards the Camp Coordinator. Other staff members have no involvement with these decisions.
