Archbishop Coakley on death of Christ the King student: “Our prayers go out to the family”

Archbishop Coakley to offer Mass for Quaid Thomas Dolan at 11:30 a.m. today.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 25, 2014) – Between 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m., during morning car pool at Christ the King Catholic School, pre-kindergartener Quaid Thomas Dolan, 4, was struck by a car and subsequently died.

“It is with a heavy heart that I acknowledge the painful tragedy that occurred at Christ the King this morning,” said the Most Rev. Paul S. Coakley, Archbishop of Oklahoma City. “As an archdiocese, we grieve the loss of Quaid Thomas ‘QT’ Dolan and pray for the peace and comfort of all those who are affected by this sad and unexpected occurrence. My sympathy and concern go out especially to the Dolan family and to the entire Christ the King community in this time of suffering.”

Dolan was the son of Sheryl and Brian Dolan and the grandson of Susan and Robert Dolan, all active parishioners at Christ the King Catholic Church; he is survived by five older brothers and a younger sister.


The archbishop said he will offer Mass for Dolan and his family at 11:30 a.m. today in the Saint Francis de Sales Chapel at the Catholic Pastoral Center in Oklahoma City.
