The Oklahoma.com: Oklahoma City Energy FC announced on Monday the signing of forward Steven Perry. The former McGuinness all-stater and 2007 Oklahoman All-City Offensive Player of the Year comes back to Oklahoma City after stints in Finland and Wilmington FC, which along with OKC is a member of the United Soccer League’s Pro Division.
Perry, an Edmond native, was selected as the city’s best player in 2007 after scoring a state record 40 goals in his senior season, leading the Fighting Irish to a state championship. Perry went on to play soccer at Notre Dame and started in 12 games as a freshman. By his senior season, he had accumulated 15 goals and eight assists while earning All-Big East First team in 2010.
