Sisters of Providence celebrating jubilees

Four Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, with ties to the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City are celebrating jubilees this year.

60-year jubilarian

Sister Janet Gilligan
Sister Janet, formerly Sister Janet Marie, entered the congregation on Jan. 7, 1957. She professed final vows on Aug. 15, 1964. Her ministries in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City include field consultant economy company, Corpus Christi (1971-76); common core of data-junior high, Corpus Christi (1976-77); and editor, economy publication company, Oklahoma City (1977-78).

70-year jubilarians

Sister Agnes Maureen Badura
Sister Agnes entered the congregation on July 22, 1947. She professed final vows on Jan. 23, 1955. In the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, she taught at Corpus Christi from 1951-54.

Sister Lucille Nolan
Sister Lucille, formerly Sister Mary Lucille, entered the congregation on July 22, 1947. She professed final vows on Jan. 23, 1955. She taught at Corpus Christi in Oklahoma City from 1969-73.

75-year jubilarian

Sister Francis Edwards
Sister Francis is a native of Oklahoma City. Formerly Sister Francis Bernard, she entered the congregation on Sept. 8, 1942. She professed final vows on Aug. 15, 1950. She earned a master’s degree in library science from the University of Oklahoma. In the archdiocese, she taught at Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School from 1972-77, and served as librarian from 1978-79.
